To apply for a Unified Multi-Purpose ID (UMID) card through the Social Security System (SSS) in the Philippines, follow these steps carefully.
You must meet the following criteria:
Prepare the following before your appointment:
You can opt to have your UMID card function as an ATM card for receiving SSS benefits and loans. Indicate your preferred SSS-accredited bank on the application form. You’ll claim the UMID-ATM card at the bank’s branch and enroll it via the Disbursement Account Enrollment Module in your My.SSS account.
The UMID card is typically processed and delivered within 30 to 45 days. If you haven’t received it within this period, check the status through your My.SSS account or contact the SSS branch where you applied.
Please note: As of now, the SSS is not issuing UMID cards. Instead, they are providing a UMID Certification, which serves as a temporary replacement while the UMID card is unavailable. Please wait for official updates from SSS regarding the resumption of card issuance.
